Beginner Photography Lessons - Lesson 1
Monday, July 11, 2011 at 12:36PM We all want to take pictures for different reasons. Why do you want to learn the world of photography or become a better photographer? Maybe to document your life with the people that you love, document the world around you, or maybe you want to take images that will blow people away.
Photography is an art, and you are the artist. Every photo you capture is going to tell a story and make you and the people that look at your art feel something. So today for the first class I want you all to think about why you want to take pictures and write down a list, the list should include:
- Things you like about Photography.
- What do you want to achieve with photography?
- What subjects do you want to shoot?
- How do you feel about your subjects?
Once you have drafted up your list, put it in your camera bag. Now go out and shoot thinking about composition: the rule of thirds, balancing elements, leading lines, symmetry and patterns, view point, background, depth, framing, cropping and experimentation. Once you have finished your shots & editing your photos post them on Flickr to the group DDC Beginner Photography. I encourage you to comment on your own photos and other peoples photos.
